GiantsAmongMen recently wrote about Tesla founder Elon Musk, 45, and mused that it was hard to tell if he most resembled Tony Stark/Ironman, billionaire superhero, or a potential Bond villain.

Since then, he’s launched his SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket into space (yesterday) and revealed that it had unloaded a cherry red Tesla Roadster convertible into the cosmos, driven by a mannequin dubbed Starman. The car has David Bowie’s song ‘Space Oddity‘ on a loop and features the famous motto: ‘Don’t panic’, from Douglas Adams’ sublime series of books, ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy‘ on the dashboard.

The car is heading for the Asteroid Belt apparently, and USA Today is excited about the future of space exploration, thanks to Musk.

Us? We’re definitely now leaning towards future Bond villain.

(and also, Naomi Klein was not impressed…)
